STE{A}M Plus Camps
Why CodeForce camps?
All camps were not created equal. We provide STE{A}M activities through the lens of technology. However, we feel like technology is only half of the experience and have introduced our STEAM+ approach to learning. In addition to coding awesome games, digital devices, computers, and robots we also teach digital safety, privacy and good digital citizenship. We also teach presentation skills and work on the students ability to give and receive constructive criticism. We reinforce the idea that it's okay to make mistakes and fail in order to learn and improve. All in a safe environment with like minded kids. We also meet and or exceed the Computer Science Teachers Association's standards for teaching computer science to K-12.
Lets go beyond coding this summer.
STE{A}M+
In addition to Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math, we also reinforce topics that we feel are just as important. We refer to these as STE{A}M Plus:
Digital Safety
We work in Digital Safety and Online Privacy into every camp. Teaching our kids to be safe on the web is one of our fundamental principles.
Cyber Bullying
Being a bully or being bullied are two topics we must address in each camp. This goes hand in hand with our Digital Safety initiatives.
Presentation Skills
Presentation skills and recieving and giving feedback and constructive criticism are valuable skills that will benefit kids of all ages.
Our Curriculum
By the end of our camps, we want our students to have grasped some computer science concepts, made a progression in their coding skills, had exposure to non-coding STEAM topics and online safety/cyber-bullying conversations.

A note on the progression of camps: They can all be stand alone for beginners or will progressively stack. Each day is themed to help parents decide what days they want their kids to attend, but the projects and challenges are all different for each camp (and each half-day, actually). If a student returns for another camp, the theme of the day would be the same, but they will be given a challenge that builds on what they have learned previously.
